my old nemesis, we meet again

As you might have heard, the weather is unpleasantly hot in LA. Usually, things cool down at night enough to be comfortable sleeping, but, lately, not so much.

So, I am tired all the time and completely unmotivated to do anything productive. All of my creative juices have dried up in the heat. Almost the only thing I'm willing to leave my apartment for is air conditioning.

I have always had a problem with inertia. I am supremely capable of ignoring things that need to get done in favor of lazing around doing nothing. In recent years, I've gotten a lot better about it (new job, working out, etc.), but ever since the heat wave started, I've been up to my old (non-)tricks.

Here's what I should have/could have/would have gotten done if it weren't for the heat (my god, the heat):

1. Do the dishes
2. Get my car washed
3. Color my hair
4. Clean the bathroom
5. Laundry
6. Read my library books (it's too hot to READ, people)
7. Change the sheets
8. Vaccuum
9. Unpack my new phone and replace my old crappy cordless

And I'm sure that there are more things that I'm too tired and cranky to think of that belong on the list.

I'll leave you with this image: Last weekend, I fell asleep in the library LIKE A HOMELESS PERSON because it was the first quiet place I sat down and was comfortable in a week.
